    SNOW DAY INFO-December 14, 2017
    -Finish
    INFO-January 5, 2018
Keep moving forward with your reading of
chapter 9 reading packet (already assigned as Wednesday homework)
-Read Khan Academy article on Signaling (already assigned as Wednesday homework)
    -Go to Mastering Biology
13 and complete Chapter 9 assignment (new work, available at midnight on 12/14)-not required, but strongly recommended
-Complete the following five questions on cell cycle control AND make sure you understand them...the more detail you give, the better you understand this. These questions
your objective questions. You should not be answered until you have finished ALL readings.
Why does a multi-cellular organism need to control and coordinate cell division? What might be
through #17 done by Monday (through the consequencestopic of uncontrolled cell divisionDNA replication in a multi-cellular organism?
What does it mean when we say that there are several “checkpoints” that occur during
the cell cycle? Give an overview of what checkpoints do and then describebook). Bring any questions you have then. I already plan on going through the three inMeselson-Stahl experiment, talking about the cell cycle.
What is a cyclin? CDK? Kinase? Diagram the relationship between CDK
discoveries you researched this past week, and cyclin and summarize in words their relationship.
Give an example of an external signal
answering questions on structure that regulates cell division and explain how it works.
What is the relationship between cancer and cell division? How can cancer develop in an organism?
    you have.
    Don't forget
    ...
    some extra help.
    If
help if you have the opportunity to get together and study, you should try to do so...the cell cycle stuff isn't that tough, but it is detailed, and cell cycle control is a bit more challenging. BUT only do so if the roads are cleared and it is safe :) Stay warm, study up, and get some sleep (yes, I mean it). need it.
    Stay warm!!!

In this unit we will be looking at bioenergetics, the part of biochemistry concerned with energy involved in making and breaking bonds in molecules found in living organisms. Our focus will be on chapter 7 and chapter 8: cellular respiration and photosynthesis.

    Exam Format
    Section I
    Multiple Choice — 69 Questions | 1 Hour, 30 Minutes | 50% of Exam Score
    Multiple-Choice: 63 Questions
    Discrete Questions
    Questions in sets
    Grid-In: 6 Questions
The grid-in questions focus on the integration of science and mathematical skills. For these responses, students need to calculate the correct answer for each question and enter it in a grid on that section of the answer sheet.
    Section II
    Free Response — 8 Questions | 1 Hour, 30 Minutes (includes 10-minute reading period) | 50% of Exam Score
Long Free Response (2 questions, one of which is lab or data-based)
Short Free Response (6 questions, each requiring a paragraph-length argument/response)
